Trainer and broadcaster Yang Chi-seung, who revealed he incurred losses of 1.5 billion won during the gym closure, warned that fraudulent activities involving impersonation of him are occurring.
On the 2nd, via his SNS (social media), Yang Chi-seung stated, "I recently learned about illegal fraud cases where individuals are impersonating me and demanding advance payments under the guise of PT (personal training lessons). I am posting this urgently out of concern that those who trust me may suffer harm."
He added, "I have temporarily paused my gym business operations and am not currently conducting any PT classes."
He further emphasized, "Even when operating a gym, I never request or accept money before meeting members in person for face-to-face consultations. Please be extremely cautious and do not fall for impersonated accounts or contacts to avoid financial losses."
Previously, Yang Chi-seung gained public recognition through various entertainment programs while working as a trainer for top stars including actors Kim Woo-bin, Han Hyo-joo, Sung Hoon, and BTS (BTS) member Jin.
Yang Chi-seung had operated his gym in the basement of a commercial building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It is reported that the building was constructed under a 'donation-for-land' condition, requiring the transfer of management and operational rights to the Gangnam-gu Office after 20 years of free use.
Yang Chi-seung claimed he was not informed of this condition and took legal action against the Gangnam-gu Office but ultimately closed his gym last year. During this process, he revealed losses totaling 1.5 billion won and shared recent updates that he has since joined a facility management company as an apartment community facility manager following the gym closure.
