With the sudden departure of the production team behind actor Wonju's YouTube channel, rumors about Wonju's health have surfaced.
On the 24th, the production team of Wonju's YouTube channel, "Wonju_Wonju Artificial," stated in a public notice that "the production team responsible for producing and operating the channel since its launch will no longer produce content for the channel."
The production team expressed gratitude, saying, "Thanks to our subscribers and teacher Wonju, we had a joyful and happy year." However, they did not disclose whether there would be a replacement of the production team or future plans for channel operations.
News of the sudden departure of the production team led some subscribers to express concern over Wonju's health. This was further fueled by recent footage showing Wonju appearing confused about their current location, reigniting speculation about potential health issues.
Earlier, in April, Wonju revealed on TV Chosun's "Perfect Life" that they had been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, a stage preceding dementia, based on medical checkup results. Mild cognitive impairment is characterized by memory, language, or judgment abilities falling below the average for their age group, yet daily life remains possible, distinguishing it from dementia.
Last month, a video featuring actor Sunwoo Yong-yeo and Wonju traveling to Jeju Island was released on Wonju's YouTube channel. In the footage, Wonju appeared flustered after searching for a ring they had worn the previous day and finding it in their bag.
During transit, Wonju remarked, "This is Jeju Island now. I thought we were still in Seoul." Later, when Sunwoo Yong-yeo asked about their current location, Wonju replied, "It's Chungcheong Province. Not yet." Upon being told by Sunwoo Yong-yeo that they were indeed still in Jeju Island, Wonju exclaimed, "We haven't even reached Chungcheong Province yet? I'm going to faint," expressing surprise. Some netizens expressed concern over Wonju's health based on these scenes.
Wonju's agency, Sky People Entertainment, told Sportsv News that this was merely a process for reorganizing the channel and stated, "The teacher's health is excellent, and there are no issues with their broadcasting activities." They further added, "We plan to return with a new look around autumn."
