Actor Lee Seo-jin shared his views on happiness with the members of the group RESSCENE.
On the episode aired on the 2nd, SBS variety show 'Will You Do Anything? - Secretary Jin' featured a meeting between Lee Seo-jin and Kim Gwang-gyu, who have an average age of 56.5 years, and RESSCENE (Woni, Minami, Liv, May, and Jenna), whose members have an average age of 20.6 years.
During the broadcast, RESSCENE had to wait briefly under a tent because it started raining during an outdoor commercial shoot.
Lee Seo-jin, who took on the role of RESSCENE's manager, sprayed insect repellent and encouraged them by saying, "Just hold on for a little while. We have to finish shooting quickly so we can wrap up early. You must endure it. If you smile, we will finish faster."
He then emphasized, "This is all about money. Smile. Smile more. Open wide!" He also passionately advised, "Do not cover your faces. Make the product clearly visible."
After the shoot ended, Kim Gwang-gyu asked Woni and May, "Have you received your settlement yet?" May replied, "I haven't received my settlement yet."
Hearing this, Lee Seo-jin advised, "When you receive your settlement, you must save it steadily. If you make a mistake with stock investments or things like that, you will go bankrupt."
Woni responded, "We don't really know much about stocks and such." In response, Lee Seo-jin emphasized, "You don't even need to know about stocks. Even if you receive your settlement, do not spend it on frivolous things; be frugal."
When May said, "I will buy Malang-i (soft toys) when I get my settlement," Lee Seo-jin advised, "Just buy three or four. Do not buy 10 at a time," which drew laughter.
May asked Lee Seo-jin, "What are your hobbies? Something like 'small but certain happiness'?"
Lee Seo-jin then said, "Happiness depends on how you think about it, but if you earn a lot of money, happiness is bound to come. Unconditionally. If you make money, happiness follows."
When Woni asked, "Is money really everything?" Lee Seo-jin asserted, "Money is everything." In response, Woni remarked, "I guess I don't know because I haven't earned much money."
Later, in an interview with the production team, Woni candidly shared, "I was surprised. I thought you didn't need money if you were just happy." She then expressed anxiety, saying, "Is it really true that happiness is money? Someone needs to tell me. It might not be the case, right?"
When the production team asked, "Were you happy when you moved into a 100-pyeong (approx. 330 sqm) dormitory?" Woni immediately answered, "I was very happy."
Lee Seo-jin, who was watching this, said, "See? Capitalism is already permeating your life; you just haven't noticed it. You are also on the right track. The path to becoming a slave of capitalism."
Hearing this, Woni also accepted it by saying, "(I) had been enjoying it too," which brought laughter.
RESSCENE is a five-member multinational girl group that debuted in March 2024 and gained attention with the catchphrase "Geoje Yahoo!" Recently, they have received as many as 100 advertising offers due to their music's resurgence on charts, but RESSCENE members revealed that they have not yet received their settlements.
