A woman who suffered abuse from her stepmother in her youth expressed her resentment toward her father for ignoring the situation.
On the episode of tvN STORY's "Lee Ho-sun Counseling Office" broadcast on the 6th, a 28-year-old woman, referred to as Ms. A, appeared, stating that she is suffering from trauma related to abuse.
Ms. A revealed that after her father remarried during her childhood, she was subjected to severe physical violence by her stepmother. She recalled, "Grabbing my hair was standard, and when she got angry, she threw everything around her," adding, "Every time I was severely scolded, my father would avoid the situation and turn a blind eye."
The abuse intensified around the time Ms. A reached the third or fourth grade of elementary school. She stated that she was hit on the buttocks with a pool cue while in a prone position, saying, "My buttocks were beaten to a pulp, so I couldn't even lie down."
She also claimed that her stepmother had sown discord between her and her father. Ms. A said, "When I was in middle school, a rumor spread at school that a certain girl was involved in a sugar daddy relationship. Everyone knew it wasn't me, but my stepmother told my dad, 'That girl is the one doing it. Go check on it.'"

When Ms. A explained at the time that it was not true and asked, "Why does my stepmother treat me this way?", her father reportedly replied, "You are doing it out of jealousy. You feel it as a woman."
Ms. A said she even heard her father call her a "Cinderella complex" case and accuse her of "playing the victim." She expressed a sense of betrayal, stating, "He did not take my side without offering even a single warm word of empathy," and added, "I even wondered if my dad might be a sociopath."
In response, the father explained that he was well aware of his daughter's suffering and had tried to dissuade his wife from behind the scenes. He further stated that he began apologizing to his daughter when she entered high school, revealing, "My wife has anger management issues, and I was also subjected to physical violence."
Lee Ho-sun pointed out that child abuse and domestic violence against the husband occurred simultaneously in this process, noting that the father was also a victim. However, he stated, "I consider the father to be a bystander as well," pointing out his responsibility for neglecting the violence inflicted upon his child.
