Amid allegations that the family of fully paralyzed YouTuber Park Wi discriminated against his wife, singer Song Ji-eun, the spotlight has also fallen on actress Yoon So-hee, who is known as the family's adopted daughter.
Recently, online, a video titled "My First Chuseok at My In-Laws' House," which Park Wi released through his YouTube channel in September 2024, has been re-examined.
The video captured Song Ji-een visiting her in-laws for the first time to celebrate a traditional holiday after her marriage. It also featured Park Chan-hong, Park Wi's father and a former KBS drama PD, as well as actress Yoon So-hee, who is known as his adopted daughter.
The controversy in the video centers on how the family treated Song Ji-eun and Yoon So-hee.
In the video, Park Wi prayed before the meal and mentioned Yoon So-hee before Song Ji-eun. Additionally, while the in-laws, Park Wi, and Yoon So-hee appeared to use matching tableware as pairs, Song Ji-eun was seen using different tableware.
Netizens who viewed this reacted that Park Wi's family seemed to pay more attention to their adopted daughter, Yoon So-hee, than to their daughter-in-law, Song Ji-eun.
Some netizens even visited Yoon So-hee's social media accounts to leave malicious comments. They left comments such as "Be more considerate," "Are you his sister-in-law?" and "It's bizarre" on a post she uploaded in March, asking, "Why are you going to someone else's house during the holidays?"
This controversy erupted after Park Wi was criticized for releasing a video of a fall accident on KTX last August, leading to a re-examination of his past content.
At the time, Park Wi released CCTV footage showing his wheelchair getting caught on the foot of a social service duty officer and falling over during the process of disembarking from KTX, as well as a video in which he stood a Korail employee down and scolded him, on YouTube. He faced criticism that "publicizing a mistake is excessive."
After taking down the video and apologizing, Park Wi has been out of the public eye for nearly two months. Song Ji-eun continues to fulfill her scheduled broadcast appearances while refraining from mentioning her husband.
