Actress Nam Bo-ra revealed that she had invested in NVIDIA stock and recorded a 300% rate of return, but the number of shares she held was only one, eliciting laughter.
On the 15th, the YouTube channel "Channel Kkuk and Channel K by Kiwoom Securities" released an episode of the web variety show "Donjjo Inquiry" featuring Nam Bo-ra. In the video, Nam Bo-ra discussed wealth management with comedians Park Young-jin and Nam Hyun-seung, and financial expert Sumisum.
Nam Bo-ra stated that she had purchased NVIDIA stock during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and "sold it after recording a 300% return," surprising the other participants.
However, laughter ensued when it was revealed that she had held only one share.
She also shared her experience investing in SK Hynix. Nam Bo-ra disclosed that she had purchased SK Hynix stock at 195,000 won per share and sold it at 215,000 won.
Although she made a profit of approximately 10%, she expressed regret upon recalling that the stock price had risen significantly afterward. When the participants teased her by calling her a "bad investor," Nam Bo-ra displayed an awkward reaction.
When Park Young-jin asked if she was doing wealth management secretly from her husband, Nam Bo-ra replied, "I don't do it secretly, but there are things I haven't told him."
Nam Bo-ra also revealed that she frequently asks her third-youngest sibling, who works as a bank teller, about financial products.
In response to Park Young-jin asking if her sibling had recommended the product for performance reasons, Nam Bo-ra quipped, "That's why I got a call at the end of the month," adding to the laughter.
Subsequently, Nam Bo-ra also asked about methods for gifting assets to her children.
The financial expert explained that minors can also open pension savings accounts, stating, "Since children have no income, they can withdraw and use funds within the principal amount at any time."
He continued, "Just seeing the word 'pension,' one might think the money is locked up until age 55, but the principal can be withdrawn midway to be used for expenses such as study abroad fees or English camp costs."
He added, "If you withdraw all the principal, you simply close the account. If any profit remains, a 16.5% miscellaneous income tax is imposed."
Nam Bo-ra left a comment on the video from her own YouTube account, saying, "I want to become an economic genius mom. I am just starting my study of economics," revealing her determination to learn about wealth management.
Meanwhile, Nam Bo-ra got married in May last year and gave birth to a son in June.
