Singer Eric Nam (37) opened up about an experience of being hurt by people.
On the 21st, a video titled "Eric Nam, from retirement rumors to discrimination involving spitting in his face… What on earth happened?" was uploaded to broadcaster Ha Ji-young's YouTube channel. In the video, Eric Nam spoke with Ha Ji-young about his fourth full-length album, released on the 16th.
While discussing the title track "Psyko" (Psycho), Eric Nam caught attention by answering, "My life itself seems crazy," when asked if he had ever done anything crazy in his life. He explained, "I wanted to experience being deeply in love with a crazy person, which is why I wrote this song."
Eric Nam also confessed that he had gone through a difficult time due to people who were obsessed with him. He revealed, "At one point, there were strange people who became fixated on me. It was really hard. Because they liked and loved me so much, they tormented me in various ways."
Eric Nam stated, "I think it's because I have a personality that makes it hard for me to refuse. Also, it seems there are periods when I encounter such people," adding, "I've also been betrayed and had money taken from me. If you add up the money I didn't receive, it exceeds 100 million won. There are amounts in the hundreds of millions here and there," shocking listeners.
Eric Nam firmly stated that he has no intention of contacting or facing them again, revealing, "There have been many such people in my life, so I am afraid of meeting people. Even when I meet new people, I tend to take a defensive attitude," evoking sympathy.
