Hyosung Chemical announced that it will participate in the international plastics processing exhibition 'Fakuma 2026,' held from the 12th to the 16th (local time) in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
The POKETON material being showcased this time is a high-performance plastic material that is resistant to impact, wear, and chemicals, and has low moisture absorption, allowing it to stably maintain its shape and dimensions. It is attracting attention as a high-value-added specialty material that can be applied across various industries by enhancing properties such as strength, wear resistance, and flame retardancy according to specific uses.
Recently, it has been utilized as a material for service robots, expanding its application scope into the robotics field. In particular, it can also be applied to joint gears and shaft support components of humanoid robots that must withstand repetitive movements and friction.
At this exhibition, Hyosung Chemical will introduce application cases of POKETON under the theme 'Automotive, Robotics, Medical,' displaying automotive connectors, gears and drive parts, medical components, and other items incorporating POKETON. In particular, on the 14th, it will hold a technical seminar themed 'A Material Proven Worldwide, Opening the Future with Technology' to discuss ways to expand the application scope of POKETON.
Europe is a market with high utilization of high-performance materials, given its well-developed manufacturing base in the automotive and industrial equipment sectors. Hyosung Chemical plans to expand its business into global markets, including Europe, by broadening the use of POKETON as a material for future industries such as electric vehicles and robotics.
Lee Cheon-seok, CEO of Hyosung Chemical, stated, "POKETON is expanding its potential applications across various industries, including electric vehicles, robotics, and medical fields," adding, "In line with industrial changes that demand both sustainability and high performance, we will expand the application areas of POKETON through collaboration and customized technical support."
