LG Electronics is accelerating its offensive in the global B2B (business-to-business) market by leveraging large-capacity commercial laundry appliances and differentiated management solutions.
On the 25th, LG Electronics announced that it will supply its large-capacity commercial laundry appliance “LG Professional” to Germany’s commercial laundry solution company “Schilling” next month. Schilling is a specialized firm that supplies and installs laundry equipment and solutions for laundries and coin-operated laundry facilities across Germany. Germany is considered a key market in Europe’s commercial laundry industry, where demand for hotel and medical/industrial laundry is concentrated.
Commercial laundry appliances are representative B2B products that require not only product performance and energy efficiency but also the capability to ensure stable operation and maintenance after installation. LG Electronics explained that through this supply deal, it has had its competitiveness in high-efficiency products and management solutions recognized in the European commercial laundry market, which has high barriers to entry.
LG Professional washes and dries large-capacity laundry loads based on “AI Core Tech,” which combines core component technology with AI (artificial intelligence). The AI analyzes the weight of the laundry to adjust water usage and optimize drying conditions, thereby shortening washing time and reducing water and electricity consumption.
It also reduces residual moisture in laundry through high-speed spinning at approximately 18 times per second, shortening drying time. By utilizing gyro sensors, it automatically corrects imbalances inside the drum, reducing vibration and noise, which also lowers component wear and maintenance burdens. Based on such competitiveness, LG Electronics’ European commercial washing machine sales increased by approximately 20% year-on-year through last month.
LG Electronics is also making efforts to expand B2B customer touchpoints in Europe. A representative example is its participation in “EXPO Detergo International 2026,” Europe’s largest-scale specialized laundry exhibition, which opened in Milan, Italy on the 23rd, where it showcased high-efficiency large-capacity commercial laundry appliances and management solutions.
At this exhibition, held every four years, LG Electronics set up an exhibition space of approximately 90 square meters, more than twice as large as at the previous event, and discussed business cooperation plans with major European B2B customers. The exhibition space featured products that manage garments requiring dry cleaning, such as wool and silk, using water and dedicated detergents, as well as commercial laundry appliances in the 10th to 30 kilogram range.
Alongside the products, it also showcased a dedicated management solution that supports efficient store operations. “Laundry Crew” is a service that enables managers to remotely control laundry equipment and utilize functions such as error notifications and smart diagnostics.
It also introduced use cases of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for B2B customers who possess their own management solutions. An API is a standardized platform designed to allow data exchange and function sharing between different software. LG Electronics supports B2B customers in developing and using their own unique management solutions tailored to their specific situations by utilizing its proprietary API.
LG Electronics is also expanding its commercial laundry appliance business in North America and Asia. In North America, the world’s largest market, it has more than doubled the supply volume to “CSC ServiceWorks,” the No. 1 laundry solution company, compared to the previous year. Sales of commercial laundry appliances have reached an annual average growth rate of 41% over the past three years. It is also broadening its business foundation by strengthening cooperation with local distribution channels in Asian countries such as Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
Son Chang-woo, head of the Living Solution Division at LG Electronics’ Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, stated, “Leveraging high-efficiency commercial laundry appliances across various capacity ranges and differentiated management solutions, we will grow rapidly in the global B2B laundry market.”
