The Gamescom Awards is a ceremony that selects the best titles among games showcased at Gamescom, the world's largest gaming event.
A jury composed of experts first selects nominees for each category, with final winners announced on the 28th through votes from the jury, Gamescom attendees, and viewers. Voting by attendees and viewers begins at 4 p.m. (Korean time) on the 26th.
The "Epic" category honors games that made a strong impression with their grand narratives and intense gameplay. The "Best PC Game" award recognizes titles that delivered exceptional polish and gaming experiences on the PC platform.
"Red Desert" ranked second in cumulative U.S. video game sales for this year (according to market research firm Circana) and topped new IP revenue on Steam among all new intellectual properties globally (according to global market analysis firm Newzoo Analytics). On Steam, "Red Desert" maintains a "Very Positive" user rating across 13 languages, including English, German, Spanish, and French. The game continues to receive global acclaim for its rapid patches and ongoing updates that reflect player feedback.
Pearl Abyss will participate in Gamescom from the 26th to the 30th (local time) alongside Samsung Electronics. Attendees can experience the vast open world of "Red Desert" on PCs equipped with Samsung Electronics' world's first 6K gaming monitor, "Odyssey G8," and other devices.
