
At the awards ceremony for the world's largest game show, 'Gamescom,' held in Cologne, Germany, no Korean games were awarded.
According to the results of the 'Gamescom Awards 2026' announced by the Gamescom organizing committee on the 28th (local time), out of a total of 19 categories, no Korean game made it onto the winners list.
Pearl Abyss's 'Red Desert' was nominated in two categories: 'Most Epic' and 'Best PC Game,' but failed to win. The 'Most Epic' award went to 'Tides of Annihilation,' developed by Chinese game company Eclipse Glow Games, while the 'Best PC Game' award went to SEGA's 'Total War: Warhammer 40K.'
Age Twister, published by Krafton and produced by Spanish developer Piccolo Studio, was also nominated in the 'Most Holistic' category but did not win. The award went to Japan-based developer Redrock's 'Finding Polka.'
CD Projekt Red (CDPR) and SEGA each won three awards. CDPR received awards for 'Best Trailer,' 'Best Merchandise,' and 'Best Booth' for the remaster of 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' and its DLC 'Songs of the Past.' SEGA won 'Best Audio' for 'Alien Isolation 2' and 'Best Lineup' for 'Total War: Warhammer 40K.'
Additionally, 'Onimusha: Way of the Sword' by Capcom won both 'Best Gameplay' and 'Best PlayStation Game,' while 'Metro 2039' took home the award for 'Best Visuals,' and 'Forza Horizon 6' was named 'Best Microsoft Xbox Game.'
