After booking the additional checkup through AI, A asked for recommendations on the location for a second branch of a restaurant he plans to open soon.
This is what 'Everyone's AI' will look like by the end of this year. The government plans to offer the 'Everyone's AI' service for free so that all citizens can use AI as easily as Hangul or arithmetic.
To this end, on the 28th, the government selected three consortia—SK Telecom, KT, and Kakao—as providers of AI services to all citizens. The key challenge is to surpass global AIs such as ChatGPT and Gemini, which many citizens already use, in terms of usability and convenience.
SKT highlighted an 'action-type AI assistant' that performs follow-up actions such as booking and making calls based on models like 'A.X K2'. When a user requests the issuance of a certificate, it links with Government24 and PASS to carry out necessary procedures. It can also be used via phone and text messages.
Kakao will create an AI access point for all citizens through KakaoTalk. Additionally, based on 'Kanana' and LG AI Research's 'K-Exaone', it will provide a general-purpose chatbot and domain-specific AI agents. It will connect with Seoul National University Hospital, Shinhan Bank, Lunit, and others to link information search, booking, application, and payment in areas such as healthcare, finance, education, and caregiving.
KT will utilize AI models from Upstage, Motif Technologies, NC AI, and others, and place AI entry points in Next, Musinsa, Zigbang, BC Card, EBS, and other partner services, as well as on Genie TV. The plan is to support everything from search to the execution of public and daily life services through a single conversation.
The government will provide a total of 512 NVIDIA B200 GPUs to the three consortia this year and will also support service operating costs starting next year. Kakao plans to launch beta services in September, SKT in October, and all three consortia are scheduled to roll out official services within this year.
