On the 1st, Insera Solution, a precision optomechanical company specializing in optical devices for space laser communication, announced that it has secured 13.5 billion won in Series A funding.
Leveraging this investment, Insera Solution will establish an FSM Yangsan system and officially begin developing a PAT (Pointing, Acquisition & Tracking) system for space laser communication, marking its entry into the global precision optomechanical market.
This investment round included existing investors Daegyo Investment, L&S Venture Capital, Innopolis Partners, Solid X, and JB Ventures, as well as new investors SV Investment, Shinhan Venture Investment, and Intervest.
Notably, most of the existing investors participated in this follow-on round, including institutional investors who had invested at the seed stage. As a result of this investment, Insera Solution's cumulative funding raised has increased to approximately 17.4 billion won.
Insera Solution is developing high-speed precision steering mirrors (FSM) and PAT platforms based on precision actuation and control technologies. PAT is a technology that precisely aims lasers at target points and acquires and tracks signals, recognized as a core technology not only for space laser communication but also for advanced defense systems based on lasers.
The company's flagship product, FSM, is an optical component that controls the direction of laser beams with ultra-high precision and speed. It is utilized in various fields including inter-satellite laser communication, satellite-to-ground optical communication, space optics, defense, and advanced laser systems. Insera Solution supplies this product to domestic space and defense companies and government-funded research institutions.
In particular, the space-grade FSM has completed ground-based space environment testing and was selected as a payload for the second verification satellite under the Korea Aerospace Administration's "Domestic Components and Parts Space Verification Support Project." The company plans to verify its performance in the space environment through the fifth launch of the Korean rocket 'Nuri' scheduled for October 7, while also securing operational history in space necessary for global market entry.
With this investment, Insera Solution will transition from an early-stage, R&D-focused phase to a full-scale commercialization and Yangsan stage. In response to increasing domestic and international demand, the company plans to establish an FSM Yangsan system and gradually expand its production capacity.
The funds will be concentrated on expanding FSM Yangsan facilities and production equipment, conducting follow-up research and development for PAT, developing global business strategies, and entering overseas markets. The company will also strengthen its commercialization system covering development, production, testing, and verification. Insera Solution has obtained KS Q 9100 certification for aerospace and defense industry quality management systems, equipping it with the quality control framework required for the Yangsan stage.
The application areas of precision optical control technology accumulated in the space sector will also be expanded. The company plans to broaden its business scope into industries requiring high-precision control technologies, including defense, semiconductors, advanced lasers, and precision optics. It is also expanding technical and business discussions with overseas space and optical communication companies to advance entry into global supply chains.
