The Korea Aerospace Research Institute opened an AR (augmented reality) promotional experience center for Nuri, South Korea's space launch vehicle, at the Starfield Suwon Tower Atrium on Friday.
The institute said that it will operate the experiential promotional hall from today until Sunday, allowing visitors to experience the achievements of South Korea's aerospace research and development.
This is an experiential space with the concept of visitors becoming 'researchers for a day' to explore and experience aerospace technology. It consists of exhibition spaces introducing major research achievements of the institute, AR and virtual reality (VR) experience zones, crafting programs, and a space for cheering on Nuri.
In the representative program 'Nuri AR Coloring', visitors can color Nuri themselves and then launch it using augmented reality (AR) technology. Various participation programs are also underway, including Danoori Moon Exploration Quiz, paper airplane making, space keycap crafting, spacesuit experiences, and writing cheering messages for Nuri.
Lee Sang-cheol, director of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, said, "This event was organized to allow citizens to closely experience the achievements and significance of South Korea's aerospace development ahead of the fifth launch of Nuri in October and to join the research team in their challenge." He added, "We hope this will become an opportunity for future generations to nurture their dreams of reaching space."
