The Mid-Autumn Festival full moon will rise at 5:34 p.m. Seoul time on the 25th. It will reach its highest point in the sky at 11:31 p.m. on the same day.
On the 22nd, the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute released astronomical information regarding the full moon during the Chuseok holiday period in 2026.
Although the Mid-Autumn Festival full moon can be seen on the 25th, it is not yet a completely round full moon (full moon phase). The moment when the Moon is positioned directly opposite the Sun and becomes a "full moon" occurs at 1:49 a.m. on September 27. Therefore, the full moon visible on the night of Chuseok is not perfectly round; it appears slightly less than full on the left side.
Based on sea level (0 meters), the times when the Moon rises in major cities are as follows: △Seoul at 5:34 p.m., △Incheon at 5:35 p.m., △Daejeon at 5:32 p.m., △Daegu at 5:27 p.m., △Gwangju at 5:34 p.m., △Busan at 5:25 p.m., △Ulsan at 5:24 p.m., and △Sejong at 5:33 p.m.
The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute provides various astronomical knowledge, including sunrise and moonrise/moonset times across major regions nationwide, through its astronomy and space knowledge information website "KASI Cosmos Hub."
