YouTuber Um Eun-hyang, famous for parody videos of works by writer Lim Seong-han (Phoebe), said that she was invited to the real writer's house and lived there for two weeks.
Recently, a video titled "VLOG Before Being Locked Up at Writer Lim Seong-han's Place [Lim Seong-han's Healthy Breeding]" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Um Eun-hyang.'
In the video, Um said she chose to live in her office to overcome burnout, and while eating, sleeping, and living there, she received a call from writer Lim.
In April last month, Um underwent surgery for a vascular tumor. Writer Lim personally called her after seeing this. During the call, Lim pointed out, "I see you drinking cold sikhye (rice drink) in the video. That's why such things happen," and said he would teach her his health tips.
Lim said, "I had something suspected to be osteosarcoma protruding next to my nose. I wanted to get a biopsy, but they told me to wait until after Chuseok. In the meantime, I corrected my eating habits and made it smaller in two days." He then asked, "I'll teach you if we meet. Can you be locked up for two weeks?"
Um, who had been a fan of Writer Lim's work, immediately accepted and revealed that she started living at Lim's home on Aug. 5.
The video captured Um packing her belongings before entering Writer Lim's house. She said, "The writer repeatedly warned me. He told me absolutely not to bring any health supplements," and lamented that even though she had a cold, she could not even bring vitamin supplements.
In a teaser for the next episode, part of Lim's residence was captured on camera, drawing attention. Writer Lim's house featured a large floor area, antique furniture, and a luxurious chandelier, catching the eye.
Um said, "The filming condition was an agreement that we would absolutely not film the writer," specifying that Writer Lim's face would not be revealed.
However, Um shared Lim's heartfelt healthy meals and funny anecdotes from their chitchat at the end of the video, building anticipation for the next episode.
Lim has written numerous hit works, including the dramas 'Bogo Tto Bogo' (See You Again), 'Mermaid Lady,' 'Princess Aurora,' 'Marriage Script, Divorce Song,' 'Lady Durian,' and 'Doctor Shin.'
Um revealed that she is a fan of Lim, who is known as the so-called "master of over-the-top melodrama," and directly parodied his works. She humorously expressed Lim's unique lines such as "It makes sense," "Cancer cells are also life," and "I was desperate," which became a topic of conversation.
Subsequently, Um personally spoke with Lim in April last month to conduct an interview. Through the interview, Lim discussed stories related to the unique clichés of his written works, attracting significant attention.
