Broadcaster Shin Dong-yeob revealed that he has emphasized 'greetings' over studying for his children.
Shin Dong-yeob appeared on singer Sung Si-kyung's YouTube channel last month to discuss child-rearing.
He said, "There is a message I tell my son and daughter relatively often," adding, "I don't touch them or nag; instead, I tell them to 'be sure to greet people well.'"
He further explained that he taught them to greet not only security guards and neighbors but also family members among themselves, noting, "As more people stop greeting each other, being good at greetings will eventually become rare."
Shin Dong-yeob's daughter majored in ballet at Sunhwa Arts High School and was simultaneously admitted to the Department of Physical Education at Seoul National University College of Education and the Dance Institute at Korea National University of Arts for the 2026 academic year. It is reported that she chose to enroll at Seoul National University.
Meanwhile, Shin Dong-yeob married former MBC variety show PD Sun Hye-yoon in 2006 and has one son and one daughter.
