Actor Kim Soo-hyun broke a hiatus of about one year and four months to personally greet his fans upon his return. This comes after receiving a decision of no prosecution from police in connection with an investigation into allegations of dating a minor, as he accelerates his resumption of activities.
Philippine fashion brand BENCH revealed on its official channel on the 2nd that Kim Soo-hyun's video had been released, stating, "Our beloved global Benchsetter has returned."
In the video, Kim Soo-hyun said, "I really missed you," and added, "I am happy to greet you through BENCH after such a long time."
Kim Soo-hyun participated in a BENCH commercial shoot on the 14th of last month, marking his first official schedule in about one year and four months. Images were also released showing him holding a bouquet of flowers and smiling brightly at the filming site.
Kim Soo-hyun had effectively halted activities after allegations surfaced in March last year that he had been dating the late Kim Sae-ron since their underage years. While Kim's side admitted to the relationship, they consistently denied claims of underage dating, stating, "We met after she became an adult."
Recent police investigation results also supported Kim Soo-hyun's side. The Seoul Seongdong Police Agency decided not to transfer the case to the Prosecution Service after investigating a complaint filed by the deceased's family against Kim Soo-hyun for violations of the Child Welfare Act and false accusations. In a separate investigation into Kim Se-e, operator of Garoseoro Institute, it was determined that audio recordings and messages released to support the underage dating allegations were AI-generated or forged/falsified materials.
Kim Se-e was arrested on charges including spreading false information about Kim Soo-hyun and was transferred to the Prosecution Service. His agency, Gold Medalist, stated, "We thank law enforcement authorities for revealing the truth through objective evidence."
Interest is focused on whether Kim Soo-hyun will return to acting activities following his commercial shoot and fan greetings. However, the future schedule of the Disney+ series 'Knock Off,' which has been postponed, remains undecided.
