Singer Jang Yoon-jung (46) revealed an experience in which she was taken aback by the physical contact of middle-aged female fans, stating that she understands fans' expressions of affection.
On Thursday, a video titled "Queen of Events Jang Yoon-jung's Documentary: One Day" was released on Jang Yoon-jung's YouTube channel.
The video showed Jang applying makeup herself without staff assistance after arriving at an accommodation facility to attend an event in a regional area. Jang explained, "Other celebrities travel with four or five staff members, but I find that uncomfortable, so I do it on my own."
Inside the vehicle en route to the venue, she expressed gratitude to the fans who came to see her.
Jang said, "I am not a singer who attracts large crowds of fans at events. There are only a few people present, but I cannot express how grateful and happy I am. I know all their faces."
She continued, "The weather has gotten quite cold, but seeing that you welcome me happily even after waiting so long makes me think I must work hard. To convey that 'I know you are here,' I try my best to make eye contact as much as possible."
Jang, who took the stage last at the event, performed songs such as "Flower," "The Sister Next Door," "Love," "Tsan Tsa La," and "Melt Away." She was also seen carefully looking after fans waving light sticks in the front row by asking them how they were.
After finishing her performance, Jang Yoon-jung talked about her daily life off-stage while having a meal of cup noodles and hot bars at a highway rest area.
She revealed, "When I am on stage, I am aware that I am a singer, but when I come down from the stage, I do not realize it well. Sometimes, if someone looks at me off-stage, I startle."
She continued, "Mothers say 'Oh, Yoon-jung-ssi~' and touch my body. There are times when it is somewhat awkward, but if I did not like that, I should not be a singer."
She added with a smile, "My body is no longer just my own. I have to live with the understanding that things are the way they are."
