Broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo revealed that he was hurt by malicious comments belittling his appearance and even considered nipple reduction surgery in the past.
In an episode of KBS 2TV's "The Boss Has Donkey Ears" airing on the afternoon of the 25th, Jeon Hyun-moo shares his difficult experience with an unlikable image during the early days of his broadcasting career.
Jeon Hyun-moo recalled, "The first malicious comment I received was that my nipples were also unlikable," adding, "A malicious comment said it seemed like I could hang a jumper on my nipples."
He continued, "Because they said even my nipples were unlikable, I looked into surgery to remove them," revealing, "The doctor told me not to recommend it because the procedure involves too much bleeding."
Jeon Hyun-moo confessed that as criticism of his appearance continued at the time, he also began paying attention to self-care.
He said, "No matter how hard I worked on broadcasts, I was cursed about my appearance by people who didn't know me, so from then on, I started doing hair removal and procedures for self-care," adding, "Since they said they didn't want to see me on broadcast, I thought I had to change."
Upon hearing this, Um Ji-in expressed surprise, saying, "I knew you were troubled by this incident, but I didn't realize you considered it so seriously."
Kim Sook also offered comfort, saying, "How much of a shock must it have been for you to even look into surgery?" and adding, "Since it's all in the past now, you can laugh about it."
