Actor Kim Gwang-gyu revealed that he has secured his own home in Yeonhe-dong, Seoul, for the first time in 28 years.
On the episode of MBC's 'I Can Do This?' broadcast on the 31st, hosts Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Heo Kyung-hwan, and Joo Woo-jae took on the role of Kim Gwang-gyu's one-day managers.
When Kim Gwang-gyu shared his bitter feelings, saying, "I wanted to open a small noodle shop. It gets lonely when I'm alone," Yoo Jae-suk turned to Heo Kyung-hwan and said, "I don't know about the others, but you need to look after Gwang-gyu hyung."
In response, Heo Kyung-hwan playfully whined, "Can't you just move nearby so it's easier for me to take care of you?" To this, Kim Gwang-gyu made a surprise confession that he had moved to Yeonhe-dong, adding that he had arranged the funds with a loan.
Upon hearing about Kim Gwang-gyu's move, Yoo Jae-suk deeply empathized with his decision, saying, "It would be great if Songdo were within that area, but it's hard to come for schedules." Kim Gwang-gyu stated, "It took me 28 years to buy a house in Seoul," earning heartfelt congratulations from those around him.
Previously, Kim Gwang-gyu had purchased a 60-pyeong (approx. 198 sqm) residential-commercial complex apartment in Songdo, Incheon, in 2021, securing his first own home. The market price of the apartment once rose to 1.4 billion won, but it later became a topic of discussion due to a sharp drop in price.
The following year, he appeared on a variety show where footage aired showing him looking bitter after discovering that an apartment in Gangnam, Seoul, which he had tried to buy in 2015, had skyrocketed from 1 billion won to 2.5 billion won.
