Singer John Park expressed mixed feelings about the explosive popularity of his self-made McDonald's rap video.
On Monday, a video titled "John Park McDonald's Incident Emergency Meeting (Oct. 29)" was posted on the YouTube channel "John or Park."
In the video, John Park reviewed the reactions to his recently viral McDonald's ordering rap video and discussed them with the production team.
John Park said, "I didn't expect the reaction to be this good. It feels very unexpected and I'm feeling quite burdened." John Park recently became a topic of conversation after learning rap from rapper Rocco alongside singer Gwak Jin-eon and then performing his McDonald's order as a rap in a store.
As of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the video's reel has recorded 9.31 million views, while the YouTube video has reached 6.49 million views, indicating explosive popularity. McDonald's produced an official advertisement utilizing John Park's rap and even unveiled a "John Park Set" consisting of the menu items featured in the video.
In response to reactions praising his rap skills, John Park said, "The McDonald's rap was something I practiced for just one day. Still, it involved more than 100 practice sessions and effort." He showed humility by adding, "Honestly, my true skill level is at rock bottom. I'm grateful, but it really feels burdensome."

John Park also voiced his complex feelings about the rap video becoming a hot topic. He said, "If I were a comedian, this would be a great situation. But as someone who makes music, I'm actually experiencing a moment of disillusionment."
He mentioned the difference in view counts between his music promotional videos and his rap content, stating, "The video I shot for my summer single promotion didn't even reach 200,000 views (300,000 views as of the filming date). I worked so hard on it."
John Park said, "So now I'm having a moment of doubt. Do I really have to rap? Do I have to release music that mixes in rap?" showing signs of being troubled. However, John Park steadied himself by saying, "I must not fall into the devil's temptation. It is a shortcut to failure."
Netizens acknowledged John Park's skills with playful comments such as, "Translated literally, does this mean his skill level was created in one day?" "Breaking news: John Park organizes K-hip-hop after 1 hour of practice," "Suggestion: You should change the channel name. To 'John Punch Park Punch,'" and "Do not ignore the ears of the public."
At the end of the video, John Park said with a gloomy expression that elicited laughter, "First, I will do my best on any project given to me. I love hip-hop so much and am giving it a try, so please view it cutely. Please don't expect too much. Expect moderately and be disappointed moderately. Thank you for looking at it favorably."
