According to online LINE communities and others on the 17th, recent posts on The Bon Kook's stock discussion forum included messages from users who said they had been contacted about being sued for insult. One user wrote, "I was sued for insult even though I only posted content related to performance, such as a fourth-quarter loss."
Another user also stated, "I believe I made a legitimate criticism. I didn't use any profanity," adding, "It's frustrating that I have to go to Yongin to be investigated for saying shareholders and franchisees suffered significant losses after investing."
A representative of The Bon Kook stated, "Since last year, malicious posts and comments with the purpose of defamation and spreading false facts centered on online LINE communities have caused direct damage to the company and its franchisees."
The representative continued, "We are currently proceeding with legal measures in accordance with our principles against acts of defamation, profanity, and spreading false facts through a law firm. This is an inevitable and legitimate defensive measure to protect the honor and trust of the company, its employees, and honest franchisees from groundless blind criticism and insult."
