Hectopay recorded its highest-ever performance for the first half of the year, driven by the expansion of high-yield payment services.
On the 6th, Hectopay announced preliminary financial results showing consolidated revenue of 107.6 billion won and operating profit of 13.7 billion won for the first half. This represents increases of 18.9% and 83.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
In the second quarter alone, the company reported revenue of 50.1 billion won and operating profit of 4.6 billion won, up 12.6% and 20.2% from the same period last year. However, results declined compared to the previous quarter due to adjustments in transaction structures for select merchants as part of efforts to establish new services.
The company explained that its performance was driven by stable growth in existing payment services and cross-border settlement operations fueled by the expansion of global merchant networks. It added that profitability improved as the share of high-yield services, including its proprietary instant cash payment service "My Account Payment," increased.
The company continues to invest in new businesses. Hectopay has joined Circle, a stablecoin issuer, as a global payment ecosystem partner, securing access to the Stablecoin Payment Network (CPN). It is also participating in the x402 Foundation, which sets AI payment standards. The company is conducting concept validation (PoC) for AI agent-based payment solutions and advancing the development of next-generation payment infrastructure.
As part of its strategy to become a global fintech leader, the company has decided to grant restricted stock units (RSUs) linked to market capitalization to key executives and employees. The payout condition is set at achieving a market capitalization of 1.5 trillion won, aiming to align the interests of employees and shareholders while driving corporate valuation growth.
Choi Jong-won, CEO of Hectopay, stated, "Building on stable growth in our existing payment business and expansion of cross-border settlement operations, we are simultaneously strengthening both profitability and growth potential." He added, "We will proactively respond to digital asset legislation and AI market shifts, nurturing stablecoin and AI agent payments as new growth engines to leapfrog into a global fintech company."
