GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology) announced on the 20th that it will build an Advanced Analysis Technology Center in partnership with global electron microscope analysis solution company 'Gatan' (Gatan).
The day before, GIST signed a memorandum of understanding with electron microscope analysis solution company Gatan and its official domestic distributor Lotis Korea at the GIST Central Instrument Research Institute in Oryong-dong, Gwangju.
Gatan is a global company that develops and supplies advanced analysis solutions required for precisely analyzing the structure and composition of materials using electron microscopes, including digital cameras, direct electron detectors, energy filters, and image analysis software.
Under this agreement, GIST will operate the existing electron microscope room of the Central Instrument Research Institute's Advanced Analysis Center as the 'Gatan Technical Center.' It is expected to serve as an education and technical support hub where domestic researchers can learn the latest electron microscope analysis technologies and experience the equipment firsthand.
Im Hyun-seop, director of the GIST Central Instrument Research Institute, said, "We will develop it into an open research platform where the latest analysis technologies can be learned and utilized, contributing to strengthening national advanced analysis capabilities and research competitiveness."
