Naver (NAVER) Happy Bean will begin collaboration with seven institutional investors to support the stable independence and community settlement of youth preparing for independence in regions with declining populations.
Naver's affiliated foundation, Happy Bean, announced on the 3rd that it has signed a multi-party cooperation agreement titled "On: Youth Project" with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (Korea Land and Housing Corporation), Korea National Sport Promotion Foundation, Yuhan Kimberly, Asung Daiso, World Vision, and others. The signing ceremony was held at 2 p.m. today in Seoul Olympic Parktel, Songpa-gu, Seoul, with approximately 30 officials in attendance.
This project is the Season 2 of the social contribution campaign "On: Family Campaign," which Naver Happy Bean conducted last year in collaboration with Korea Land and Housing Corporation and Yuhan Kimberly. At that time, a governance structure was established involving the government, private companies, and platforms to improve perceptions of non-marital childbirth and support single-father households and protection facilities. This year, the project will expand participation by institutional investors through housing, daily necessities, and emotional support for youth.
The newly launched "On: Youth Project" targets 300 youth preparing for independence who have recently exited child welfare facilities or family foster care and are within five years of their protection ending. Priority is given to youth residing in or based in 107 regions with relatively weak support infrastructure, including areas with declining populations and areas of interest. The support period will continue until December.
The "On: Youth Project" provides both material and relationship-based independence support. Korea Land and Housing Corporation will handle living environment improvement and housing-related education, while the Korea National Sport Promotion Foundation is preparing a two-day networking camp at its Sports Value Center. Yuhan Kimberly and Asung Daiso will provide essential daily necessities and household items. Naver Band will also operate a continuous communication channel where participating youth can check on each other's well-being and share information.
Naver Happy Bean plans to launch an online campaign open to the public to broaden social consensus on the emotional isolation faced by youth preparing for independence, and will produce "Well-Being Books" containing encouraging messages. These books will include selected sentences from user comments submitted during the campaign.
Lee Il-gu, CEO of Naver Happy Bean, stated, "This project is significant because government policy direction, public resources, corporate expertise, and the on-the-ground experience of public-interest institutional investors have all been connected toward a single goal." He added, "As a social contribution partner that connects diverse resources and expertise while expanding public participation, we will continue to create exemplary cases."
