All nine secondary payloads launched aboard Nuri No. 5 on the 7th have successfully established communication with ground stations.
According to the Korea Aerospace Administration and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) on the 13th, all nine secondary payloads that reached orbit aboard Nuri No. 5 have achieved successful communication as of the 13th, preparing for mission execution.
SpaceLintec's 'BEE-1012' successfully established two-way communication around 2 p.m. on the 7th. The Unmanned Exploration Research Institute's 'UEL-Y-Sys (Ulysses)' and Space&Bean's 'SD-1 SAT' also achieved successful two-way communication around 2 p.m. on the same day. The Domestic Device and Component Space Verification Platform No. 2 (KARI) succeeded around 2:30 p.m. on the 7th.
Chosun University's Space Optical Communication Orbit Verification Satellite received a beacon signal during its first communication attempt around 2 p.m. on the 7th, and subsequently achieved successful two-way communication around 11 p.m. that same night. O&B Space's 'SLEDGE' received its initial beacon signal around 10 p.m. on the 7th and successfully received data on the 9th. Efforts are underway to uplink data from ground stations to the satellite to establish two-way communication. Daejeon Metropolitan City's 'DaejeonSat-1' achieved successful two-way communication at 11 p.m. on the 8th.
Cosmoworks' 'Jack-007' received a beacon signal during its first communication around 2 p.m. on the 7th, and subsequently succeeded in receiving data. KAIST's Geosat received a beacon signal during its first communication attempt around 1 p.m. on the 7th, and successfully received data around 11 p.m. that same night. Efforts are underway to uplink data from ground stations to the satellite to establish two-way communication.
After completing basic satellite status checks through communication, secondary payloads will undergo an initial operation phase to confirm that all systems are functioning normally before commencing their full missions.
Oh Tae-seok, Woo Ju (Commissioner), stated, "In this fifth Nuri launch, we achieved successful communication with the CubeSats in a significantly shorter time compared to the fourth launch," adding, "This is an achievement made possible by the rocket placing the satellites more accurately into their target orbits and providing precise satellite location information." He further noted, "We will continue to strengthen our enhanced space transportation mission capabilities going forward."
