YG Entertainment Chief Producer Yang Hyun-suk disclosed his plans for the debut of a new boy group and girl group.
On the 14th, Yang Hyun-suk posted on YG’s official blog, beginning with, “I am greeting you after about five months.”
Yang Hyun-suk announced that BABYMONSTER will release their new digital single, “DESERVE,” on the 23rd, describing it as a slow song but one possessing more intense energy than any track they have released to date. He also stated, “We expect BABYMONSTER’s new album to be released in early next year.”
TREASURE will release their new digital single, “SHOCK,” featuring an intense hip-hop sound, on November 2. He noted that TREASURE is undergoing its biggest change in musical direction and said, “Please look forward to and support TREASURE’s full-fledged second-act activities leading into 2027, which will begin with this new track.”
He also mentioned the rookie groups currently in preparation. Yang Hyun-suk stated, “Currently, YG is preparing for the debut of a five-member boy group and a four-member girl group as its next-generation rookies,” adding, “Both groups are scheduled to record various demo tracks they have been preparing until the end of the year, and specific debut schedules will be determined once title tracks are decided.”
Notably, Yang Hyun-suk posted the article at 12:43 a.m. The post appeared on the official Facebook page after 2:00 a.m. Speculation arose that this unusual pre-dawn announcement was a response to former SM Entertainment Chief Producer Lee Soo-man unveiling new domestic rookie groups. Previously, on the 12th, Lee Soo-man simultaneously debuted the boy group “A20 Soul” and the girl group “A20 Light,” three years after leaving SM.
