Singer Lee Ji-hye directly addressed the so-called "bulk-buying" controversy after purchasing cakes in bulk at Sungsimdang, a renowned bakery in Daejeon.
On the 14th, Lee posted on her Instagram, "What do you mean by 'bulk-buying'? I am curious about the reason for creating this controversy."
She continued, "I visited Daejeon for filming and purchased cakes so that all the staff could each take one on our way back," adding, "I only helped with the payment."
Furthermore, she stated, "Since there is no group photo, I will directly write down the names of those who took them," and released a photo indicating the owners of the purchased cakes.

According to the photo, two of the 11th insulated bags contained roll cakes, while the remaining nine cakes were divided into two for Lee herself, one for her husband Moon Jae-wan, and portions for six staff members.
Previously, Lee had posted on her Instagram Story a photo of 11 insulated bags containing cakes purchased at Sungsimdang, with the caption "For all of us."
Some netizens who saw this criticized her, saying, "People come from all over the country to buy bread. What if you buy this much and the next person can't buy any?" and "No consideration for those behind you."
On the other hand, some responded that since she purchased in line properly, there was nothing wrong with it. There were also opinions that buying several cakes at a large bakery alone could not be seen as causing inconvenience to other customers.
