Cha Ye-ryeon became embroiled in school bullying allegations after a post titled "Please stop your activities, 1985-born actress who was a school bully" was uploaded to an online community on the 29th of last month.
This is because the author of the post claimed that they had been subjected to persistent bullying by a student while attending Seoul Junggye Middle School, and that this student has since become an actor.
Based on clues mentioned by the whistleblower, such as being born in 1985 and attending Junggye Middle School, netizens identified the actress in question as Cha Ye-ryeon. However, Cha Ye-ryeon's agency, HB Entertainment, refuted the claims, stating they were "groundless."
Despite this, the controversy continued, and Cha Ye-ryeon's YouTube channel announced that it would deactivate certain videos and comment sections to prevent the indiscriminate spread of rumors and personal attacks against her family.
The agency also issued an additional statement on the 4th, saying, "We will thoroughly secure relevant materials and respond responsibly after legal review regarding malicious dissemination of false information and personal attacks."
