Comedian Kim Young-chul mentioned his older brother, who died in a traffic accident.
On the 6th, a video was released on the YouTube channel 'Kim Young-chul Original,' featuring comedian Jung Sun-hee introducing three "books of life."
In the video, Jung said about "the book that comforted me and got me back on my feet," "Books, regardless of genre, comfort us and help us get back up in some way or another," adding that it was difficult to choose just one.
She explained, "How can a single book lift someone's life? We expect such drama, but life turns out to be less interesting than we think. If a single sentence is enough to make you stand up, it means that many accumulated words have already taken root."

Jung said, "I wondered how I could choose just one book that lifted me up, but there was one title that came to mind," naming Park Wan-soo's "Please Just Say One Word."
She introduced the preface, stating, "Park Wan-soo had four daughters and one son, but she lost her young son at the age of 26. It is said that she poured out her emotions as if vomiting from the empty space left by her child who departed overnight."
She continued, "Rather than lifting me up page by page, it sometimes knocked me down," explaining that it forced her to face head-on the past and emotions she had not wanted to confront. She added, "There is no literary narration, but there is something only those who have experienced similar things can feel."

Hearing this, Kim recalled his late older brother.
Kim said, "In 1991, my older brother went to heaven due to a traffic accident, so I read it from my mother's perspective," mentioning the passage where Park expressed anguish over herself enjoying udon noodles while grieving the loss of her child.
He then shared, "It was told so honestly, sincerely, and plainly that it made me laugh in disbelief, and I wondered what kind of heart my mother had to endure day by day."
He added, "I realized that my mother ate like that. Images came back of her watching us eat and saying, 'I made soybean paste stew, isn't it delicious? You're eating well.' Did my mother sometimes pretend not to be able to eat in front of us? It became an opportunity to understand my mother better."
Kim has previously revealed that his eldest brother died in a traffic accident when he was in the third year of high school. Kim had shared on various broadcasts in the past that his eldest brother, who had gone out, promised to buy the chicken he wanted while he was away, but suffered a traffic accident and passed away that evening.
