Pre-sales of "iPhone Duo," the first foldable smartphone in the iPhone lineup, will begin domestically from the 16th.
Apple announced that it will accept domestic pre-orders for the iPhone Duo starting at 9 p.m. on the 16th, with the official launch set for the 23rd.
The domestic retail prices of the iPhone Duo are as follows: 3.29 million won for the 256GB model, 3.59 million won for the 512GB model, 4.19 million won for the 1TB model, and 5.09 million won for the 2TB model. This marks the first time an iPhone has exceeded the 5th million won price point.
Due to supply constraints, pre-ordering appears to be a better option than waiting for general sales. Market research firms forecast that global shipments of the iPhone Duo this year will range from 5 million to 6 million units. This is a sharp decline compared to the more than 80 million units shipped in the second half of last year for the iPhone 17 series.
The iPhone Duo weighs 254g and has a thickness of 5.2mm when unfolded and 11.3mm when folded.
To minimize screen creases at the hinge, the internal display features a structure composed of 10 layers and a nano-texture finish that reduces light reflection.
A titanium frame and hinge cover were adopted to ensure durability. The internal screen is coated with anti-scratch protection and supports IP68-rated water and dust resistance.
The device is equipped with the A20 Pro chip, Apple's latest application processor (AP). It also features a vapor chamber cooling system for thermal management and dual batteries distributed on both sides of the body.
