Singer Kim Ho-jung (34), who was released on parole after serving time for "drunk hit-and-run" charges, expressed gratitude to his fans.
On the 27th, Kim Ho-jung posted a message on his official fan cafe, saying, "My beloved Aris. I miss you so much."
Kim Ho-jung wrote, "Since being released on parole, it has felt like my time has been rewound to two years ago. I have gone through everything I used to do one by one and carefully brushed off memories that had gathered dust. I thought a lot about how hard and lonely you must have been during the time I was away. Thinking of how you stayed in your place, believed in me, and supported me without change even through such a long wait, feelings of gratitude and apology surged together."
He continued, "I decided to continue working with my original staff who had to go through difficulties due to my mistake. Since those who endured hard times because of me are the ones I must stay with until the end, I believe that staying together is an important responsibility I must fulfill, and it is both the way I have lived and the way I will live going forward. This was a decision I thought about very much." He also announced that he would fulfill his remaining contract period at his original agency, Think Entertainment, which recently changed its name to Art M&C.
Kim Ho-jung was brought to trial in May 2024 for driving a car while drunk and hitting a taxi before fleeing the scene in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Later, it was revealed that his manager attempted to cover up the accident by making a false surrender and removing the black box memory card.
Both the first and second instances sentenced Kim Ho-jung to two years and six months in prison, and he gave up his appeal, so the sentence became final and he has been serving time.
On the morning of his parole last month 30, Kim Ho-jung posted on his fan cafe, saying, "Rather than more words, I will clearly see what situation and position I am in now and live without straying," and added, "I am sorry. I am truly sorry. I will reflect more and straighten my heart again."
At that time, Kim Ho-jung's side stated that he had not received ankle treatment due to his imprisonment and planned to focus on treatment first rather than preparations for his return.
