Ko Ji-yong (46), formerly of the group Sechs Kies, late revealed that he had divorced his wife two years ago.

On the 29th, Ko Ji-yong shared via his SNS (social media) that "I divorced my wife two years ago."

He explained, "The reason I did not disclose this until now is because I wanted to protect my son Seung-jae so he could fully accept the situation and grow up stably."

He continued, "Seung-jae understands his mother's and father's new relationship and is currently doing well in a stable manner. As a father, I will do my best going forward. Although we have chosen to walk separate paths as a couple, we continue to support each other."

Meanwhile, Ko Ji-yong debuted with the group Sechs Kies in 1997. After the team disbanded in May 2000, he left the entertainment industry and has been active as a businessman.

He married family medicine specialist Heo Yang-im in December 2013 and welcomed his son Seung-jae in 2014. Since then, he and Seung-jae appeared on KBS 2TV's variety program "The Return of Superman," receiving widespread affection.
