Veteran actor Baek Il-seop (82) disclosed that he was taken to the hospital after going without urination or bowel movements for three consecutive days.
On the 2nd, MBN's 'Sokpuri Show Dongchimi' pre-released a video titled "Baek Il-seop Taken by Ambulance Due to Health Issues?!" via YouTube and other channels.
In the video, Baek Il-seop began by saying, "I had back surgery and also underwent surgery on both knees. The back surgery didn't go well initially, so I had it done twice. During the four surgeries, I received general anesthesia, and I heard that kidney function can deteriorate after such procedures."
He continued, "That condition accumulated over time, and for three days straight, I couldn't urinate or defecate. Living alone, I simply couldn't make it to the hospital by myself, so I called 119."
Baek Il-seop later said he was invited by his son to live together. He remarked, "My son came to visit me at the hospital and was surprised. When he suggested we live together, I quickly moved to a nearby place."
Currently, his son resides in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, while Baek Il-seop lives in Yongin. Baek Il-seop stated, "We don't live in the same neighborhood, but we are close by," adding, "My daughter-in-law occasionally visits to check on me, and my grandson often comes to see me."
He also mentioned that he gauges how much time has passed since his sudden divorce by considering his grandson's age. Baek Il-seop said, "The day I left home was October 15, and the day my grandson was born was the 18th. If I ask him how old he is and he says eleven, I think to myself, 'It has been 11 years since I left home.'"
Baek Il-seop married in 1980 and had one son and one daughter. After declaring a sudden divorce from his wife in 2016, he has continued living separately.
