Singer Lee Sang-soon has directly revealed the reason for his absence from live radio broadcasts for over a week.
On the 6th, via SNS (social media), Lee said, "Many people have been worried because I haven't been able to host the radio program for several days," and added, "I sincerely apologize to listeners for taking a break from hosting without any prior explanation."
He explained, "My condition suddenly worsened on the 26th of last month, making it difficult to host the radio show. Since then, I have undergone various examinations and consultations. Although I am still awaiting more detailed tests, medical professionals have recommended rest due to a nervous system symptom known as vagus nerve dysfunction, so I have had no choice but to take a break from the radio program and focus on recovery."
He further stated, "Medical staff indicated that I can gradually recover if I take sufficient rest. This time, I will take enough time to fully regain my health before returning."
Regarding why he did not immediately disclose his health status, Lee explained, "I myself do not know when I will recover. I kept thinking, 'If I'm okay tomorrow, I'll resume hosting,' which is why this message came out late."
He added, "Please don't worry too much. I am resting well and recovering, so please wait a little longer."
On the 26th of last month, just before the broadcast of MBC FM4U's "A Perfect Day with Lee Sang-soon," Lee suddenly complained of poor physical condition. At that time, regular guest singer Thomas Cook began the broadcast first, and Lee appeared in the studio about 10 minutes before the program ended.
At that moment, he said, "Actually, I was at MBC but had to lie down in the medical room due to my poor condition. You must have been surprised that I didn't come earlier. I apologize for arriving late."
Since then, on the 27th, he entered a period of rest. At the time, Thomas Cook explained, "There is no special abnormality in his body; it was determined that only condition adjustment was needed. After discussions with the production team, we decided to take a few days off."
On the 29th, a broadcast hosted by Lee Sang-soon aired, but it was a pre-recorded segment. He has not yet returned to live broadcasts. Thomas Cook is currently serving as a special DJ, filling in for Lee's absence.
