Sim Soo-bong revealed that she has not held a guitar for a long time due to trauma experienced after the Oct. 26 incident.
On the Oct. 17 broadcast of KBS2's variety program 'Shin Sang-chul's Side Kitchen' special for Chuseok, Sim Soo-bong appeared and shared details about her home where she has lived for 30 years and her daily life.
During the broadcast, Sim Soo-bong played the piano herself, performed her new song 'Hold Me and Embrace Me,' and then brought up the story surrounding her guitar.
Sim Soo-bong said, "I couldn't hold it at all after the Oct. 26 incident, but I recently picked it up again," adding, "I can't live without music. The happiest time is when I work on songs alone."
Sim Soo-bong is a witness to the Oct. 26 incident in which President Park Chung-hee was assassinated at the Central Intelligence Agency residence in Gungjeong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on October 26, 1979. Sim Soo-bong, who attended the banquet at the time, directly witnessed the shooting scene and faced difficulties such as being unable to engage in broadcasting activities following the incident.
Sim Soo-bong confessed, "It seems like I am expressing my sorrow through music." Upon hearing this, Lee Yeon-bok remarked, "It feels like reaching a certain level of life's journey."
