Comedian Kim Gyu-won said, "When people form bonds, they naturally look out for one another," showing a humble attitude toward the heartwarming story from his time as a social service agent that came to light late.
On the 17th, episode 85 of 'The God of N-th Attempts,' featuring Kim Gyu-won, was released on the YouTube channel 'Mimiminu.'
In the video, Mimiminu (real name Kim Min-woo) said, "Recently, an unexpected act of kindness came to light and became a topic of public discussion," referring to the heartwarming story from Kim Gyu-won's time as a social service agent that was released last month.
Previously, illustrator Kikuni introduced Kim's act of kindness through a webtoon he posted on his social networking service (SNS).
It was reported that when Kim worked as a social service agent at an elementary school in the past, a fifth-grade student who used a wheelchair due to congenital muscular disease had an accident in the restroom. Kim personally washed the student's underwear, dried it in the sun, and handed it over in a plastic bag.
Before his discharge from service, he prepared rice cakes and distributed them at the school. When the student's elementary school graduation ceremony took place, he could not attend in person due to COVID-19, so he left a bouquet of flowers and a gift at home. Later, he personally visited the middle school graduation ceremony to present a bouquet and congratulate the student on graduating.
When Mimiminu introduced this story and joked, "You probably didn't intend for it to go viral," Kim replied, "This was a bit of an 'iSuga' moment. Someone even said, 'Didn't you do viral marketing at the perfect timing to win an award?'"
Kim explained the process of becoming a social service agent: "I went into the military as an active-duty soldier, but my disc ruptured. Because I was injured, I was sent home and had to go through training camp twice." He added, "That's when I ended up working at an elementary school as a social service agent."
He continued, "It's a bit embarrassing to call it a heartwarming story. When people form bonds, don't they naturally look out for one another?" He also said, "I grew very fond of him, so I felt regretful."
He added, "My mother contacted me after seeing my broadcasting activities. I went because the student was graduating from middle school, but I didn't expect it to become an issue."
When Mimiminu said, "Not everyone can do what you did. Because I've lived with that mindset, good things have come my way," Kim reacted shyly.
