Singer and actress IU, 33, donated 200 million won to mark her debut anniversary.
Her agency EDAM Entertainment said on Friday that "IU donated a total of 200 million won, with 50 million won each to the Korea Social Welfare Association, Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital, Heart-Heart Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity Korea."
The donations will be used to support youth preparing for independence, children and adolescents requiring rehabilitation treatment, women preparing for independence, and national merit recipients.
IU has consistently made donations on meaningful occasions such as her debut anniversary, birthday, Children's Day, and year-end holidays. This year, she donated 300 million won on her birthday and 100 million won on Children's Day, followed by this latest donation of 200 million won, bringing her total donations for the year to 610 million won.
Since debuting in 2008 with "Mia," IU has released numerous hit songs including "Marshmallow," "Nagging," "Good Day," "You and I," "Cinderella," "Meet Me on Friday," "Midnight Letter," "Palette," and "Lilac." On the 10th, she also released her new digital single "From This Star."
