Actor Jin Taehyun shares update one year after thyroid cancer surgery: "My body has really changed… I'm out of breath"

Actor Jin Taehyun shared his changed physical condition following his thyroid cancer surgery.

On the 29th, Jin Taehyun posted an update on his Instagram showing him training for an autumn marathon race.

Jin Taehyun said, "I am enjoying training with my wife, working hard, and living each day diligently." He added, "Intervals are tough, and long-distance runs are tough too. My body is really very different from before the surgery. Now that a year has passed, trying to start again leaves me out of breath, and my heart rate does not keep up."

He stated his ambition: "Still, I will challenge myself with my primary goal of running a single (marathon distance), and if it gets too difficult along the way, I will try for my secondary goal of setting a personal best (PB)."

Jin Taehyun wrote, "I am seriously exercising with dreams and goals in mind." He continued, "Every dawn, I run and run again in parks and sports fields with my closest, beloved wife. I imagine the scene of me crossing the finish line at the speed and time I desire someday."

He added, "I really dislike comparing my marathon to others', and competing with others is also meaningless to me." He elaborated, "I simply fight against my own best record and compete with my past. My profession is being an entertainer, not a running athlete, right? I respect all runners who diligently and quietly keep running every busy day."

Jin Taehyun revealed last May that he had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer through a health checkup. He underwent surgery on June 24 of the same year, and since then has consistently continued his running and marathon training.

Jin Taehyun married Park Si-eun in 2015. The couple adopted their daughter, Park Dabida, after meeting her through volunteer work at a childcare center in 2019, and they announced earlier last year that they had taken in two daughters as new adoptive children.

The couple announced their pregnancy in 2022 after two miscarriages, but suffered the pain of losing the baby in the womb on August of the same year, 20 days before the due date.
