Actress Sa Mi-ja (86) disclosed that although she has prepared enough money for her old age, the fact that she is currently taking a break from work makes her feel uneasy.
A video titled "The daughter-in-law candidate Sa Mi-ja truly coveted: Yoon Yu-sun" was posted on the YouTube channel "Sa Mi-ja, Not O Mi-ja" on the 9th of last month.
In the video, Sa Mi-ja, who met with her junior colleague Yoon Yu-sun, spoke about how she and her late husband used to save money in the past. She said, "My husband didn't know how to go to the bank before," adding, "I felt we couldn't just leave things as they were, so I held his hand and took him to the bank."
Sa Mi-ja stated, "When we visited the bank with my husband, I told him to deposit everything except our living expenses." She continued, "After that, my husband became very close with the bank officer, and we even got a look inside a VIP safe deposit box that we would never have dared to enter on our own."
Sa Mi-ja, who prefers saving over stock investment, said, "I don't like doing stocks without savings," but added, "I heard it's good to buy things like gold, so I bought a small amount of gold."
When mentioned that gold prices had surged several times since she purchased them, Sa Mi-ja confessed, "In fact, with what I have now, I feel reassured thinking I could use it until the day I die." She added, "Still, I do wonder if it's okay for me to just sit around doing nothing like this."
Yoon Yu-sun joked with a smile, "The gold has been working for you, so it's fine." In response, Sa Mi-ja replied, "It's not an enormous amount of gold," adding, "But fortunately, I have enough to use in my old age."
