Jung Eun-woo, a former member of the group Pristin, made additional disclosures, claiming she was scammed by investors when she re-debuted as HINAPIA.
On the 13th, Jung posted a video titled "Shindongji Girl Group Stories, Part 2" on her Instagram. In a previous video, she had revealed that "HINAPIA was close to being a Shindongji group."
Jung recalled the time, saying, "Suddenly, they said we should go to Jirisan to receive spiritual energy. They said they would give us 'gi' (vital energy), so one by one, we went to the master and received it."
She also spoke about the process of deciding the group's name. "After holding a meeting among themselves, they told us our name should be HINAPIA," she said. "It wasn't 'HINAPIA' like in 'hee-hee' (a giggle); it was HINAPIA. They gave an incomprehensible explanation, saying 'The chairman told us to do it that way.'"
She revealed that although investors had proposed, "If you just sign the contract, we will let you do everything you want," things were different after the contract was signed.
Jung said, "They said there would be seven music shows, but we might only appear on two." She added, "When it came to clothing, they gave us the cheapest items from shopping malls, and the budget was very small."
She continued, "The claim that everything was prepared so we wouldn't feel financially shortchanged was all a lie." She stated, "In the end, it didn't work out, I was scammed, and I had a moment of realization. I was the first to terminate the contract."
She added, "Many people ask if I have any intention of becoming a singer again. My first group fell through, and with the second, I was scammed, so I didn't want to do it anymore." She said, "It's regrettable, but I felt this wasn't my path."
Meanwhile, Jung debuted in 2017 as a member of the group Pristin, but the team disbanded after two years. In the same year, she re-debuted as HINAPIA, but that group also disbanded after nine months. She is currently working as a consultation room manager at a plastic surgery clinic.
