Actress Kim Hyun-joo revealed the reason she had taken a three-year hiatus from her activities in the past, confessing that she had considered selling fruit during her break.
On the 11th, a video titled "I found myself smiling so sweetly.." was posted on the YouTube channel 'Yojung Jae-hyung.' The video featured actresses Kim Hyun-joo, Jin Sun-gyu, and Lee Mu-saeng, who engaged in conversations with broadcaster Jung Jae-hyung on various topics.
In the video, Kim shared the background of her past long hiatus and her state of mind at the time. She recalled, "After running without rest for about five years, I wanted to escape," adding, "My filming schedule was so tight that even when I was lying down sleeping, a makeup artist would come to cleanse my face and do my makeup again."

Exhausted by continuous drama filming and hosting variety shows, she said, "I was completely drained down to my soul, and with the thought that I could not go on living like this, I told my agency and stopped my activities."
Kim said that she left for the United Kingdom around the age of 27. She reminisced, "Living alone in the UK for the first time, I realized there was nothing I could do on my own," adding, "I attended a language school, but I also quit at one point out of embarrassment when I ran into Koreans."

Mentioning that she had considered jobs other than acting while on break, she revealed specific plans she had harbored at the time: "I even thought about buying a delivery truck and selling fruit. I planned to travel around the country thinking, 'I will sell the most beautiful fruits in the world.'"
However, her passion for acting remained, and she returned to the path of an actress. Kim added, "When I came back to Korea, I missed the set again, and as good projects came my way, I decided to return with the mindset of doing just one project a year."
Born in 1977, Kim entered the entertainment industry by appearing in singer Kim Hyun-chul's music video in 1996. She subsequently appeared in dramas such as "The Reason I Live," "I Love You, I Love You," and "Deok-i."
