A woman's story was shared, revealing a shocking family secret after she hired a detective to investigate her handsome chef husband's suspected infidelity.
In the "Case Notebook" segment of Channel A's variety show "Detectives' Business Secrets," which aired on the 12th, a real-life story was dramatized about a wife who suspected her handsome chef husband of cheating.
The client had been introduced to an Italian restaurant chef, who was the younger brother of a close female friend. He proposed just three months after they met, and the couple married six months later.
However, the client requested an investigation, stating, "For several months, my husband has frequently lied and left the restaurant early. Since around that time, I've been having strange dreams, so I have a bad feeling."
As a result of the detective's investigation, it was found that the husband was visiting his parents' home every other day to see his sister.
The husband engaged in affectionate physical contact with his sister, such as linking arms and stroking her cheek, which was hard to believe for siblings. The detectives who witnessed this said, "I didn't think they were siblings at all" and "I naturally assumed she was the mistress."
Hearing this, the client was shocked, saying, "But my sister-in-law is the one who introduced us."
Continued tracking revealed that the client's sister-in-law had a relapse of leukemia and was undergoing chemotherapy at a hematology-oncology department. It also came to light that the two were not biological siblings.
It turned out that the client's sister-in-law was an adopted daughter who had been taken in at age 19. The reason for the adoption was shocking. The mother-in-law had adopted her as a "jinx" (a person who absorbs bad luck) after a shaman told her that her son was destined to die young.

The sister-in-law had been caring for her younger brother since childhood and eventually fell into a forbidden love, continuing their affair.
During this time, the sister-in-law, who had received a terminal diagnosis, had chosen the client to be the woman who would take over as the "jinx" after she passed away.
The client's husband had proposed to the client and married her in a rush, following his sister's instructions.
Initially, the client's husband had refused to marry, but he agreed after his sister-in-law pleaded, "Please do this for me. I feel like I can go without worrying about you."
The client's husband appealed, saying, "I didn't want to die. What else could I have done?" However, the client notified her husband of her intention to divorce, stating, "I don't want to be toyed with anymore."
Lee Soo-kyung expressed concern, asking, "What if she divorces and marries someone else, only to make that person a 'jinx' again?"
Kim Pung said, "Cursing someone is not true shamanism," adding, "It is merely a belief born from the plausible superstition that misfortune can be transferred if someone else bears it."
