Anna (35), the wife of former soccer player Park Ju-ho, recalled the time when she was first found to have breast cancer.
On the 15th, a video titled "A conversation about breast cancer with my primary care physician, Kim Hui-jeong (Prof.) at Seoul Asan Hospital" was released on Anna's YouTube channel 'Anna and'.
In the video, Anna met with her primary care physician, Kim Hui-jeong (Prof.) at Seoul Asan Hospital, and discussed everything from the time of her breast cancer diagnosis to the treatment process.
Recalling when she first discovered her breast cancer, Anna said, "There was a strange feeling." She then confided, "I never imagined something like this would happen to me. There was absolutely no history of cancer or breast cancer in my family."
She explained, "At thirty, I was too young, so I thought there was no way such a thing could happen to me." She added, "But my husband suggested that I get tested. After that, I had a biopsy."
She also shared the physical changes she experienced during chemotherapy.
Anna said, "There were things like Beau's lines on my fingernails," adding, "Rather than thinking they looked bad, I realized I could count how many rounds of chemotherapy I had received." Beau's lines refer to horizontal grooves that appear on fingernails or toenails.
She continued, "After chemotherapy, I had to take medication." She revealed, "One of the side effects was swelling in my body. Fluid built up in my body. So even though I wasn't crying, tears kept flowing."
She then added, "Seeing that, I thought, 'The medication is working.' I trusted and followed the doctor's instructions and didn't worry about anything else." She concluded, "I just let go. It seems like I am good at letting things go."
Professor Kim explained Anna's treatment progress at the time, stating, "The chemotherapy worked exceptionally well. It was memorable." He added, "After chemotherapy, her condition was so good that it was almost undetectable to the touch."
Meanwhile, Anna married Park Ju-ho in 2015 and has two sons and one daughter. The family gained popularity by sharing their daily lives on KBS 2TV's 'Super Dad' in 2018. Anna disclosed her battle with cancer in 2022 and was later declared cured. She is currently pregnant with her fourth child.
