Singer Jeon So-mi, 25, revealed her experience participating in a group-buying open chat room.
Jeon shared on a video posted to her YouTube channel on Monday that she had participated in a group-buying deal she discovered on Instagram.
In the video, she said that she stumbled upon a group-buying item and joined the open chat room to make a purchase. She noted that approximately 2,000 middle-aged women were gathered in the room, stating, "It was so active that 300 messages would pile up within just 30 minutes."
Jeon said she created an emotive nickname to enter the chat room. The day before the group-buying event, the item details and purchase link were first revealed to chat room participants. Participants could add items to their shopping carts in advance. Jeon explained that she successfully completed her payment as soon as sales began on the day of the event.
Jeon expressed pride, saying, "Fortunately, my fingers are fast, so I bought everything."
She also encountered an unexpected reaction after leaving a question in the chat room. Jeon said, "I asked one thing and got scolded. They said I couldn't ask that question because I hadn't read the announcements."
She added, "There were about 20 announcements," and continued, "I was told that just like you see new things each time you reread a book, you need to read the announcement posts multiple times. Following that advice, I read them several times and studied them."
