A sanitation worker in his 20s was hit by a reversing vehicle and narrowly escaped having his leg amputated, yet more than two years have passed since the accident without even an apology from the at-fault driver.
The story of a sanitation worker who suffered serious injuries after being struck by a reversing vehicle will be revealed on JTBC's "Han Moon-chul's Black Box Review," airing on the 20th.
The accident occurred while the sanitation worker was opening his vehicle door after collecting recyclables. A passenger car reversed at high speed and struck the worker.
The vehicle subsequently drove forward, hitting a building pillar, and then reportedly reversed again in the direction where the victim had fallen. Footage of the scene at the time of the accident is scheduled to be aired.
The whistleblower, who was 26 years old at the time of the accident, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a general hospital in another region. It is reported that his condition was so serious, with arterial damage, that leg amputation had to be considered.
On the broadcast, the whistleblower shared his feelings at the time, stating, "I saw my father cry for the first time. Thinking that one of my legs would be gone felt like the world was collapsing."

Fortunately, he avoided leg amputation after treatment, but it is reported that he continues to experience difficulties in daily life due to aftereffects more than two years after the accident.
Police investigation found no evidence of drunk driving by the at-fault driver, and the case was closed as a violation of the Special Act on Traffic Accident Handling. The at-fault driver reportedly received only a license suspension penalty.
The whistleblower claims that he has not received even an apology from the at-fault driver more than two years after the accident.
Conflicts experienced during the insurance settlement process will also be revealed. The whistleblower explained that he was denied payment for nursing care costs on the grounds that he had not undergone surgery, and that the settlement amount offered by the insurance company was at a level difficult to accept.
The program will also address the insurance company's claim that the whistleblower bore 20% of the fault due to failure to maintain proper forward attention.
The whistleblower is scheduled to announce that he has taken legal action against the at-fault driver and the insurance company.
