Director Jang Hang-jun and actor Cho Jung-seok, who drew approximately 17 million viewers with the film “The King’s Warden” (hereinafter “Wangsanan”), delivered laughs with their witty banter.
Cho Jung-seok appeared as a guest on the SBS variety show “Master Hang-jun,” which aired on the 29th.
While discussing the film “Wangsanan,” Cho Jung-seok offered unreserved praise when asked if he had seen it, saying, “Is there anyone who hasn’t? The final scene was explosive.” Jang Hang-jun wrote “Good posture” and appeared satisfied.
Jang Hang-jun stated that they had secured an investment of $200 million (approximately 268.1 billion won) for the upcoming sequel, “Wangsanan 2,” drawing attention. In response, Song Eun-hee asked, “Do you know how much $200 million is in Hanwha?” causing Jang Hang-jun to look flustered. Cho Jung-seok, who was cast as the lead, joked, “You should pay me around 80 billion won for my appearance fee.”
Regarding his connection with Jang Hang-jun, Cho Jung-seok recalled, “We almost crossed paths, but it didn’t happen in the end due to scheduling issues and other factors. I couldn’t even accommodate a personal request from the director. He suggested that I host the Jecheon International Music Film Festival.”
In response, Jang Hang-jun began to make an accusation, saying, “Actually, there was a cost issue. They asked for 780 million won just for one appearance.” Cho Jung-seok corrected him, saying, “It was 790 million won,” and quipped, “My usual rate is 800 million won; I gave you a discount of 10 million won.”
Jang Hang-jun then retorted, causing laughter, by saying, “Actually, I was deeply hurt emotionally and cried a lot. Eun-hee saw me crying and said, ‘Oppa, don’t cry. I’ll ruin Cho Jung-seok’s career.’ So I told her, ‘Eun-hee, we shouldn’t do that to each other as colleagues.’ Didn’t I handle it well?”
