Comedian Jo Hye-ryeon revealed that she had cut off contact with her close friend Lee Seong-mi due to the latter's repeated religious solicitations.
On the 29th of last month, a video featuring Jo Hye-ryeon was released on the YouTube channel 'I Don't Go to Church, But I'm Curious.'
In the video, Jo Hye-ryeon confessed that she had once cut off contact with Lee Seong-mi. Jo said, "I deleted her phone number and cut off all contact. She said she was praying for me and told me to attend a joint celebrity worship service, which put too much pressure on me. I really hated it."
She added, "Every time I met this sister, there was something else in her eyes," recalling the time she had dinner with Lee Seong-mi during her divorce.

Jo stated, "I was so distressed that I said, 'Sister, I'm having a really hard time.' That place was in front of Onnuri Church. After eating, my sister cried and told me, 'Hye-ryeon, there is a joint celebrity worship service today.' I really disliked the intention behind bringing me there."
She continued, "I went once. They were doing a special feature on cults at that time. The religion I believe in was also featured there. I got so angry that I ran out. After that, I cut off contact for two and a half years. I deleted the number."
Jo married in 1998 and has a daughter, Yoon-a, and a son, U-Ju, but divorced in 2012. She remarried in 2014 and converted to Protestantism at her husband's suggestion. It is known that Jo previously believed in an emerging religion in Japan.
