'AI data infrastructure company GraphAI announced on the 13th that it has secured a Series A investment of 17 billion won. With this investment, GraphAI's cumulative funding total reached 20.6 billion won.
This round was led by K-T Investment Partners, with Aventures and Ji Yu Investment joining as new investors. Quad Ventures, Kiwoom Investment, and Wi Ventures participated in follow-on investments.
GraphAI is a startup founded by Kim Min-soo, a KAIST Jeon San-hak-bu (Prof.), in 2022. The company is developing the 'Akasic' platform, which fully supports the entire process from connecting, collecting, and transforming fragmented corporate data to executing AI agents. The platform has gained attention for its performance, recording processing speeds 142 times faster than the global benchmark 'LDBC SNB'.
GraphAI is conducting main business operations and proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with the Defense Agency for Technology and Quality, Hanwha Ocean, Hyundai Motor, Hankook Tire, KB Securities, Kiwoom Securities, LG Uplus, KT, and others using this platform. Supporting an on-premise deployment model as standard, it supplies its platform even to environments where data cannot be easily sent outside, such as in defense and finance sectors.
Kwon Hyuk-ryul, Executive Vice President of K-T Investment Partners, stated, "Although the government announced the 'K-Palantir' plan last June to nurture new security innovation companies, cases securing foundational databases through domestic core technologies are rare." He added, "We focused on GraphAI's execution capability, which has validated its core technology in academic circles and demonstrated it across various industries."
GraphAI plans to use the investment proceeds to further enhance the Akasic platform and launch new products in the second half of the year. The funds will also be utilized for global market expansion and securing R&D talent.
Kim Min-soo, CEO of GraphAI, said, "Driven by the insight that the success or failure of corporate AI depends not on models but on data and understanding business context, we have focused on developing the HYBE-led RAG DB engine." He continued, "We aim to elevate the Akasic platform to global standards and establish a new standard for data infrastructure that guarantees the autonomy and safety of AI agents."
